What do you mean when you say "game"?
Repeatedly through out the website I have been using the word "Game" to refer to the role-play. Personally, using the term "Game" is a lot easier to use than "Role-play" and I think it looks more professional. Some people are not used to referring to their role-plays as "Games", so it is understandable that there would be confusion with the word usage.
What genre is this game?
Gaze Upon Me is a careful blend of Slice of Life, Romance, Mystery, and Horror with a touch of Fantasy. The slice of life part of this role-play is apparent due to the fact that the occurrences and setting in the game are a simulation of real life. The romance aspect is sort of a sub genre of slice of life since love is a real aspect and emotion, only in this case love is the focus of the game. Then the Mystery aspect of the game is subtle simply due to the fact that the Match Maker's identity and motives are a mystery to the characters. The Horror aspect of this game is also subtle and a surprise.
What is the story about the Match Maker?
All I am going to tell you about the Match Maker is that they are male and have a cruel personality. He treats his dating service as a sort of a game. A service for his own personal amusement. He purposely interferes with the matches lives and enjoys watching them struggle for love and affection. How he does that though will remain a mystery. He has a lot of influence in what goes down in Biddeford...
Who do I contact in regards to my availability?
If you are going to be away, busy, inactive, or on hiatus please send the Game Master a private message about it. This is so I do not have to sift through endless amounts of ooc comments in our ooc thread to find out what is going on with everyone. As a lot of you already know, the members converse A LOT in the ooc thread, and a lot of important of information goes missed. If you cannot tell me what is going on after a week of absence then I will presume you are no longer interested in the role-play, and you will be removed from the role-play. Not only that but your character will meet an unfortunate death.
Are my characters forced to achieve a relationship with a character they are matched with?
No, your characters are not forced to focus on the person they are matched with, however, it is possible that they will have some consequences to face if they fail. The Match Maker is a ruthless individual, and if your character fails to achieve the affections of the person your character is matched with then there will be consequences. Although, I would love to see characters develop relationships with other characters since it brings more into the story
Can players make their own locations and NPCs?
Yes! I highly encourage this. Just don't make to many or you may not be able to stay in control over what is going on. If you want to make a location and a NPC just send me a message about it and I will sign off on it. After it is official I will add the NPC or location onto the website for everyone to see. Keep in mind that you are responsible for finding your own pictures and typing up the descriptions.
